Handling and Wearing
• Be gentle: Although durable when properly baked, polymer clay can break if handled roughly or intentionally bent. Hold the metal components (hooks or posts) when putting them on or taking them off to avoid stressing the clay itself.
• Avoid water exposure: Do not wear your earrings while showering, swimming, or during intense workouts. Prolonged exposure to moisture can weaken the clay and cause the metal parts to tarnish.
• Keep away from chemicals: Always apply perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and makeup before putting on your earrings, as these chemicals can cause discoloration or damage.
• Remove before bed: Avoid sleeping in your earrings, as this can weaken their structure and increase the risk of breakage.

Cleaning
• General cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth or a baby wipe to gently clean away dirt, dust, or makeup smudges.
• Tougher stains: For more stubborn marks on plain, unsealed clay, a cotton swab lightly dipped in rubbing alcohol or acetone can be used sparingly.
• Special finishes: Do not use acetone or rubbing alcohol on earrings that have been hand-painted, varnished, or have glitter/foil/resin coatings, as this will damage the finish. A baby wipe or a soft cloth with mild dish soap and water is a safer alternative for these.
• Metal components: Metal parts may tarnish over time. Gently polish them with a quality jewelry polishing cloth or a specific brass cleaner (like Brasso for brass parts), taking care not to get the polish on the clay.

Storage
• Cool, dry place: Store your earrings in a clean, dry area away from direct sunlight and excessive heat, which can soften the clay or cause discoloration.
• Prevent scratches: To prevent scratches or damage, store each pair separately in a soft pouch or a jewelry box with compartments.
• Avoid pressure: Do not stack items on top of them or allow them to get smushed, as this can cause them to break or warp.
• Traveling: When traveling, use a small, padded box or wrap them individually in tissue paper for extra protection.
